Jay Prakash, M.D., FACG
Dr.Jay Prakash is the gastroenterologist who started this practice in July 1984 at Riverdale with an office in Stockbridge. He had his medical education at Stanley Medical College in Chennai, India. He completed M.B.B.S and M.D. degrees with Honors and moved to the U.S. in 1976. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine in Bronx, NY from 1976-1979. He practiced Internal Medicine from 1979-1982. He did his fellowship in Gastroenterology at University of Louisville School of Medicine, Louisville, KY - 1982-84.
He introduced for the first time most of the therapeutic procedures like Endoscopic Gastrostomy, Endoscopic Sphincterotomy with stent placement and stone extraction, Sclerotherapy etc. into the Southern Atlanta area in 1984. He served as chief of medicine at Southern Regional Medical Center and Henry Medical Center. He also served as chief of staff at Southern Regional Medical Center and Henry Medical Center, in addition to various other leadership positions including chairman of quality assurance committees and credentials committee, etc.
He had served as a hospital board member at Southern Regional Health System and Promina Health system for many years.
He held academic appointments at Morehouse School of Medicine and Mercer University School of Medicine. He served serves as Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Mercer University School of Medicine. He started the accredited continuing medical education program for physicians at Henry Medical Center and served as chairman for more than ten years. He has worked as a surveyor for a nationally known accreditation program. He has expertise in Informational Technology. He enjoys travelling all over the world, cooking, deep sea fishing, photography and making movies. He is married and has two sons.
Douglas Lowe II, MD
Douglas Lowe II MD completed his undergraduate education at Morehouse College where he was a Summa Cum Laude and Department Honors Graduate. He is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Dr. Lowe received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He is a member of the Aesculapian Club at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Lowe completed his medical internship, residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in gastroenterology at The Medical College of Georgia. He also served as Chief Medical Resident at The Medical College of Georgia.
Dr. Lowe is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He is a partner physician in private practice with Southern Gastroenterology Specialists. He has been with the practice since 2006. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is dedicated to serving the needs of patients and the community by providing compassionate and evidence-based medical care. He is skilled in the clinical practice of gastroenterology, the use of electronic medical records (EMR), and clinical research.
Dr. Lowe enjoys reading, exercising, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends.


Srinivasan Ganesan, M.D
Dr. Srinivasan Ganesan completed his undergraduate education in India and Postgraduate Medical training at the Royal College Of Physicians, London, United Kingdom. Dr Ganesan completed his internship, residency in internal medicine, fellowship in gastroenterology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, following which he was faculty at the Cleveland Clinic, and later on served as the Program Director for Digestive Disease at West Virginia University before moving to Atlanta in 2014.
He specializes in all aspects of gastroenterology and specifically in liver disease and therapeutic endoscopy. His professional career has been focused on serving the needs of patients and the community by providing compassionate and cost effective medical care in the South Atlanta area since 2014. Dr. Ganesan is married and has two children. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, Sports and spending quality time with family and friends.
Sateesh R. Prakash, MD, FACP
Dr. Sateesh Prakash is a gastroenterologist with interest in hepatology and inflammatory bowel disease. He grew up in Jonesboro, GA, and attended school at Woodward Academy in College Park, graduating with honors. He received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A) with honors and Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Louisville in Kentucky. During medical school, Dr. Prakash received a scholarship to complete a project relating to photo journalism of tropical medicine in India.
He then completed medical residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, where he rotated through Tampa General Hospital, James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, and Moffitt Cancer Center. He then attended Cleveland Clinic Florida for subspecialty training and completed his gastroenterology fellowship at New York Methodist Hospital, affiliated with Weill-Cornell. He was chief fellow during his final year of gastroenterology training and served on the hospital graduate education committee and Gastroenterology program evaluation committee. Most notably, Dr. Prakash co-directed the Brooklyn Hepatology Symposium.
He is a published author and actively participates in the American College of Gastroenterology. He has previously served on the ACG patient care committee and was recently elected a fellow in the American College of Physicians. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, watching movies, biking, and exploring new restaurants with his wife, Hima Reddy.

Jennifer Stemberger, NP
Ms. Stemberger earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Emory University in 2001. She is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Stemberger has 18 years' experience practicing in the field of gastroenterology.
Kate Barclay, NP
Ms. Kate Barclay earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University in 2021. She is board-certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Ms. Barclay completed her undergrad in Salt Lake City, UT, and worked as both an acute care and gastroenterology registered nurse for five years before becoming a nurse practitioner and moving to Georgia. She also has experience as a health care provider in both hospice and family medicine. Ms. Barclay enjoys spending time with her dog while exercising, hiking, and camping.
